سخنران: جناب آقای دکتر حمیدرضا خانکه

On October 8th, Prof. Dr. Khankeh delivered a hybrid seminar at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, focusing on key trends shaping the future of research:
· Open Science: He advocated for transparency, accessibility, and collaboration in research, emphasizing open data and inclusive practices.
· Responsible Research: He highlighted the importance of ethical standards, integrity, and ensuring societal relevance in scientific inquiry.
· Citizen Science: Prof. Dr. Khankeh stressed the value of public participation in research, aiming to democratize knowledge and engage diverse stakeholders.
· Research Integrity: He discussed the need for honesty, rigor, and transparency to build trust and reliability in research practices.
· Patient Stakeholder Engagement (PSE): He encouraged meaningful collaboration between researchers and patients to enhance health outcomes.
· Cultural Shifts in Academia: He called for transformation within the academic culture to foster openness and inclusivity in scientific processes.
Prof. Dr. Khankeh emphasized the necessity of a holistic, inclusive approach to research that champions ethical, transparent, and participatory scientific practices. He noted that trust in scientific research is essential for progress, but recent decades have seen a decline in credibility due to cases of fraud. The Open Science movement, growing in popularity, seeks to reform science by promoting data sharing and reuse. However, the movement also presents researchers with challenges, particularly regarding its practices (OSP). The seminar underscored that factors such as disciplinary background, research environment, and the type of data significantly influence how researchers adopt OSP.
He recently started a research project in the field of responsible research at QUEST Center for Responsible Research at the Berlin Institute of Health(BIH), Charite, Germany.
